The only published clock is the exhibit hall
The 2027 AFCA Convention runs 14-16 February 2027 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. The AFCA exhibitor FAQ carries the hall hours. The exhibit hall opens at 9 a.m. on Sunday 14 February and closes at 5:30 p.m., runs 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday 15 February, and closes at noon on Tuesday 16 February. The front page of the AFCA Agreement of Terms prints the Sunday close as 5 p.m. The hall doors are the clock this itinerary rests on.
Three days, 19.5 hours of floor
Sunday gives 8.5 hours of show floor, Monday eight hours and Tuesday three hours. The three days total 19.5 hours.
Exhibitors run a separate clock. Move-in is 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday 12 February and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday 13 February, with exhibitors checked in by 6 p.m. Sunday morning holds a 90-minute preparation window, 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., and every exhibit must be ready for the 8:30 a.m. opening. Move-out begins at noon on Tuesday 16 February.
Which nights to book
The official block runs through Fastbreak Travel at afca.fastbreaktravel.com/Event/9805/ and lists 23 Indianapolis hotels. Its default filter reads 14-17 February, and the note beside it reads "date range is set to the event dates, please adjust for your individual stay." The block's own window opens 8 February.
A trip that covers all three show days needs the nights of Saturday 13, Sunday 14 and Monday 15 February. Saturday night puts a visitor in the hall for the 9 a.m. Sunday opening, and Monday night keeps the Tuesday morning session inside the trip.
Per-night inventory, read on 24 September 2026: 376 rooms on 12 February, 1,629 on 13 February, 1,823 on 14 February, 1,733 on 15 February and 433 on 16 February. Rates run from $139 at TRU by Hilton to $264 at Marriott Indianapolis Downtown. Cut-off dates are 14 January 2027 for eight properties, 21 January for one and 22 January for 14. Six properties collect a deposit of one night's room and tax on or around 15 January, and Signia by Hilton Indianapolis collects a nonrefundable night on or around 22 January. Omni Severin Hotel, Holiday Inn Indianapolis Downtown by IHG and the combined Hyatt Place and Hyatt House listing carry a two-night minimum. Block addresses sit 0.145 to 0.561 miles from the venue.
The skywalk locks at night
The Indiana Convention Center publishes the route rule in one sentence. "The time frame for closing and opening of the ICC facility and skywalks is event-dependent," the skywalk page reads. "Rule of thumb for lock down in the evening is approximately 11:00 p.m. and re-opening in the morning at approximately 6:00 a.m." The window runs seven hours each night.
The same venue footer counts 4,700 rooms connected to the Convention Center by skywalk against 7,100 downtown rooms. A dinner that runs past 11 p.m. ends on the street side of the route. The 6 a.m. reopening sits one hour ahead of the Sunday preparation window for exhibitors and three hours ahead of the 9 a.m. doors.
Getting in and eating
The venue footer puts the airport 15 minutes from downtown. A routing measurement of the same drive returns 21.3 km and 23.8 minutes at free flow. The venue dining guide counts more than 200 restaurants downtown, and the venue footer counts 200 within walking distance.
What the trip requires before it starts
Admission depends on an active AFCA membership. The AFCA FAQ states that memberships run from 1 July to 30 June and that membership now includes convention registration. Annual dues are $400 for FBS head coaches, $175 for FBS assistant coaches, graduate assistants and others, $175 for FCS, Division II, Division III or NAIA head coaches and for pro, CFL, arena and pro-scout staff, $125 for FCS, Division II, Division III and NAIA assistant coaches and for JUCO and high school coaches, and $125 to $300 for coaches not currently coaching this season. A guest pass is available to non-members through the AFCA office, and a group registration books through the Membership Department at (254) 754-9900.
Tuesday at noon
The show floor closes at noon and move-out begins at the same hour. The venue event feed carries no record between the AFCA Convention and the WWETT show on 22-25 February. Tuesday afternoon is the airport window.
