What the five days hold
The NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships run Tuesday 9 to Saturday 13 March 2027. The pool is the IU Natatorium at 901 West New York Street, Indianapolis, IN 46202, on the IU Indianapolis campus. The field is 380 athletes, and a diving qualification meet opens the week on the Tuesday. The dates and the pool appear on the NCAA championship page, on the NCAA's 2026-27 Important Updates memo and on the Natatorium's own calendar.
The meet keeps one venue for five competition days. Swimming preliminaries and finals and the diving rounds all sit inside the same building. The Natatorium's about page describes it as the largest indoor aquatic facility in the United States with a seating capacity of 4,700.
The day clock is unpublished
No 2027 session time is published. The championship page, the NCAA's Important Updates memo and the Natatorium's calendar carry the dates and the pool, and none of them carries a session clock. The memo states that the Prechampionships Manual with the session detail posts on ncaa.org by mid-November. A family planning a day around a preliminaries session has nothing published to build on until then.
The only published day shape is the 2026 one
The 2026 participant manual for the Evansville edition is the only published schedule, and its clocks are stamped Central time. The building opened at 6:30 a.m. The boards opened for general warm-up at 7 a.m. on the Tuesday, passed at 9 a.m. to men on the 1-metre boards and women on the 3-metre boards, and began competition at 10 a.m. with those events running concurrently. Warm-up resumed at noon and competition at 2 p.m. with men on 3-metre and women on 1-metre. Wednesday through Saturday ran swimming preliminaries at 10 a.m., diving preliminaries at 1 p.m. and finals at 5:30 p.m. The pool opened 1-8 p.m. on the Sunday before and 7 a.m.-7 p.m. on the Monday. Warm-ups ahead of a morning session started at 9 a.m. and ran into the 10 a.m. start. Warm-ups ahead of an evening session started at 4:30 p.m. and ran into the 5:30 p.m. start. Indianapolis keeps Eastern time, and those 2026 clocks are stamped Central time for Evansville.
On that 2026 stamp the daytime middle of a competition day is the window between the two sessions. A spectator planning a day around the meet has seven and a half hours between the 10 a.m. preliminaries and the 5:30 p.m. finals.
Parking runs through the campus
Parking on the IU Indianapolis campus is controlled and operated by IU Indianapolis Parking and Transportation Services. The Natatorium's parking page says the most convenient parking is at the sports garage. The campus visitors page files the Natatorium under the Sports Complex or Riverwalk Garages, and records that the Sports Complex Garage is connected to the building. The Riverwalk Garage sits south of the Natatorium, with a skywalk from its third-floor northwest corner. Rates are hourly: $5.00 for up to two hours, $7.00 for two to four, $9.00 for four to six, $11.00 for six to eight, $14.00 for eight to 12 and $18.00 for 12 to 24 hours. A lost ticket is $18.00. Meters take $1.00 per 30 minutes between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. Monday to Friday, capped at a three-hour stay, and $1.00 per hour outside those hours and at weekends.
The stay
A Tuesday arrival and a Saturday departure bills four nights. Holding the Saturday night gives five nights and a Sunday departure.
The city behind the campus pool carries its own count. The Indiana Convention Center's attendee hotels page counts 7,100 hotel rooms in downtown Indianapolis, with 4,700 connected to the center by skywalk, 200 downtown restaurants within walking distance and 15 minutes to the international airport. Visit Indy counts 34,000 rooms in the metro area and over 8,300 downtown.
Tickets and admission
The NCAA ticket page for this championship runs a sign-up for information, and its card reads Indianapolis, IN March 9 - 13. No 2027 price is listed. The only published ladder is the 2026 one from the participant manual: all-session tickets $87.00, all-session student, senior citizen and military $48.00, adult preliminaries $32.00, senior and student daily preliminaries $20.00, adult finals $17.00 and senior and student finals $15.00. Age two and under are free, and senior is age 65 and over. The manual also records the box office and spectator seating opening one hour before competition for each session, at 9 a.m. ahead of preliminaries and 4:30 p.m. ahead of finals.
What is missing from the file
No 2027 session schedule, no 2027 admission or ticket price, and no 2027 team hotel list or block rate are published. No shuttle plan is named on the NCAA championship page or on the Natatorium's pages, so parking runs through the campus garage.
Before you book
The Natatorium's contact page gives its office hours as 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday and its number as 317-274-0336. Its event calendar is stamped Updated 9/2/2026 and carries the line Events are subject to change. The next booking in the building after the championship is the USA Swimming Speedo Sectional Championships on 18-21 March. The venue's home page names USA Swimming's 2027 Toyota National Championships in June and a volunteer programme, Team Indy @ The Nat.
