Consolidated Travel has appointed David Galt to the newly created role of chief commercial officer. Travel Daily reported the appointment on 18 September 2026 as breaking news.
Galt starts in early October 2026, per the same report. The appointment follows a six-month break.
Galt left Webjet OTA in late March 2026 after 18 years with the brand, Travel Daily reported.
Consolidated Travel's own site carries no announcement of the appointment as of 22 September 2026.
The Company Statement
Dennis Alysandratos is managing director of Consolidated Travel, and he gave the appointment's only published statement.
“Dave has an outstanding record of delivering strong and profitable growth and his ability to build trusted and positive relationships with our airline partners, customers and industry stakeholders will make him a very valuable addition,” Alysandratos said.
He also said he was “absolutely delighted” to welcome Galt to the team.
The Business Galt Joins
Consolidated Travel describes itself as the largest private airline wholesaler in Australia. Its own site dates the business to 1967, reports 3,700 travel agents on its books, and names five Australian offices and a New Zealand office.
A wholesaler holds airline inventory and distributes it to travel agents. The company describes its core business as airline and ticket distribution.
What the Role Covers
Alysandratos named both sides of the channel in his statement. The airline partners sit on one side. The customers and industry stakeholders sit on the other.
Group travel agents buy seats through that channel. A group block, a group fare and the support around both run on the terms the consolidator holds with each airline.
The commercial officer owns the partner terms. An agency that holds an agreement with Consolidated Travel can ask its account contact for the commercial lead once the role starts.
