The dates and the nights they hold
The Indiana Convention Center lists Furnaces North America 2026 from 12 to 15 October 2026 in Exhibit Hall B, with 1,500 forecast attendance. The organiser, the Metal Treating Institute, heads every page of its own site with 12 to 14 October, and its published schedule closes at 11 p.m. on Wednesday 14 October. Three nights, Monday to Wednesday, cover every published session. A Sunday 11 October arrival adds a fourth night ahead of Monday's 7 a.m. registration.
Monday 12 October: the arrival day
Registration and badge pick-up run 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. outside Hall B, and exhibitor move-in runs over the same window. The YES IV Management Training Program runs 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Marriott Downtown Indianapolis, 350 W Maryland St, for institute members. The Kickoff Welcome Reception runs 6 to 8 p.m. at the Marriott.
The indoor route from the hotels
The venue counts 4,700 of downtown's 7,100 hotel rooms as connected to the Center by skywalk. Visit Indy counts 12 hotels and 5,200 rooms in the connected package, among them the JW Marriott Indianapolis with 1,005 rooms, the Indy Marriott with 650, The Westin Indianapolis with 575 and the Hyatt Regency Indianapolis with 499.
The skywalks close on a rule of thumb the venue publishes. Lockdown falls at about 11 p.m. and reopening at about 6 a.m., and both are event-dependent. A delegate out past 11 p.m. walks back at street level.
Tuesday 13 and Wednesday 14 October
Tuesday registration runs 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Technical sessions run 8 to 11:15 a.m., the FNA Business Expo opens 11:15 a.m. and closes 5:30 p.m. in Hall B, and the floor reception runs 4 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday dining starts after 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday registration runs 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Technical sessions run 8 to 10:30 a.m., the expo runs 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and exhibitor move-out starts at 2:30 p.m. The institute's evening at the Marriott is members only, and runs as the graduation reception at 6 p.m., the president's reception at 6:30 p.m. and the final night dinner from 7:30 to 11 p.m.
Wednesday afternoon is open from 2:30 to 6 p.m. The Indianapolis Cultural Trail runs ten miles and connects six cultural districts downtown, according to its own site, with Pacers Bikeshare stations along the route.
Dining within walking distance
The venue counts 200 downtown restaurants within walking distance of 100 South Capitol Ave. Visit Indy counts more than 300 downtown restaurants on its meetings pages. The venue's dining guide points to Visit Indy's restaurants page for addresses, maps and reviews.
The Thursday airport run
The organiser's schedule carries nothing on Thursday 15 October, so the airport run is a morning departure. The venue publishes 15 minutes to Indianapolis International Airport. The Maryland Street canopy is the recommended taxi pick-up and drop-off point, and access can be restricted during certain events. At the airport, the Ground Transportation Center on the first floor of the Terminal Garage connects to bus, car rental, taxi, ride-hail, hotel courtesy vehicles and limousines. Curbside taxis sit just outside Baggage Claim.
The room block and the deadline
The host hotel is the Marriott Hotel Downtown Indianapolis at $229, 350 W Maryland Ave, booked through the show's own reservation link or on 877-640-7666. The published booking deadline is 25 September 2026. The organiser asks delegates to book only the rooms they will use, because rooms cancelled near the meeting date can carry a penalty to the Metal Treating Institute, and states that no third party books rooms for the show.
Registration is tiered by date. Expo-only entry is free before 1 September, $10 from 1 to 30 September and $25 from 1 October. The reception-and-expo tier runs $95, $105 and $125. The tier covering the reception, 35 technical sessions and the expo runs $349, $399 and $449. The final night awards dinner is members only, costs $189 to $209 and sits outside every package. Cancellations take a full refund before 1 September, 50 per cent from 1 September to 2 October and nothing after 2 October.
