The CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon, Half Marathon and 5K run on Saturday, November 7, 2026. General registration for all in-person distances is sold out. A runner who holds a bib spends the two days before the race in downtown Indianapolis, and the schedule for those two days fits in one building.
Thursday, November 5: Three Hours
Packet pickup and the Monumental Health and Fitness Expo run 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Indiana Convention Center. The venue lists the event in Exhibit Hall A-B. Three hours cover this window.
Friday, November 6: Nine Hours
The same hall opens 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. That Friday window runs nine hours, and the two days together give 12 hours of collection time. The venue's event page dates the expo to November 6 and forecasts 20,000 attenders.
If You Cannot Attend Either Day
The organiser allows another person to collect a packet. That person must present the official check-in pass with your assigned bib number and a copy of your government-issued photo ID. Digital and printed copies both work.
Race Day Packet Will Call is a separate product a runner buys at registration or later through the Beyond Monumental participant account. Quantities are limited. The organiser shares the hours and location for it in pre-race communications, and a runner who does not buy Will Call collects at the expo in one of the two windows.
Three Stops Inside the Expo
The Wave Change Station handles a wave change on site. Wave letters and pace ranges are set each year from the total participant count and the pace distribution, and the organiser approves changes subject to availability.
Changing Footprints collects shoe donations at its booth on Thursday, November 5 and Friday, November 6. The booth takes new and gently used shoes.
Every participant receives the official clear gear check bag at the expo. The organiser requires that bag at gear check on race morning. All bags are subject to search, and a bag other than the clear plastic one is turned away at the check.
Race Morning
Gear check opens at 6:30 a.m. at Washington Street and West Street. The half marathon and the marathon start at 8:00 a.m. The 5K starts at 8:40 a.m., and the course closes at 3:30 p.m.
The organiser describes the marathon as a fast, flat 26.2-mile course through downtown and the city's Cultural Districts. It calls the event one of the 15 largest marathons in the U.S., and it runs as a USA Track & Field sanctioned event subject to USATF Competition Rules.
For the People Travelling With You
Mile 20 of the marathon passes Riverside Park. The organiser publishes a route from the race site to Riverside Park by I-65 North and a return to the finish line, so a spectator can catch a runner at mile 20 and again at the finish.
The Indianapolis bike trail system crosses the course in several places. Pacers Bike Share rents bikes. The organiser asks riders to wear a helmet and follow traffic law at street crossings, because the trails meet roads that stay open to traffic on race day.
The organiser lists its 2026 cheer stop partners as still to be announced. It also runs a yard party program for residents along the course.
The 2027 Entry Opens During the Weekend
Registration for the 2027 race opens for a limited time during race weekend, November 5 to November 8, 2026, and closes at 11:59 p.m. ET on Sunday, November 8. It reopens at 12:00 a.m. ET on January 1, 2027, and the first 1,000 registrants at that opening lock in the lowest pricing before rates rise.
If You Still Need a Room
The organiser's hotel block routes through its 2026 Hotel Block website. A guest selects "Attendee" in the dropdown and enters no access code. The Visit Indy Housing Bureau answers at housing@visitindy.com and 317-262-8191, Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.
Four dates carry deadlines. September 29, 2026 is the deadline to assign guest occupant names. October 8, 2026 is the last day to cancel without penalty, and each later cancellation carries a $25 fee. October 5 through October 16, 2026 is the window to add a night or make a new reservation, with the date varying by hotel. October 22, 2026 is the last day to modify a reservation through the bureau. After October 22 a guest calls the hotel directly. The organiser publishes a waitlist route.
