Outbounder: Travel Department's Six Adventure Itineraries and What They Include

Travel Department launched Outbounder on 16 September 2026 to carry the TD active Holidays programme. The brand lists seven holiday types and six featured itineraries, from 7-night European walking weeks to a 15-night Vietnam trip, with flights and transfers included.

What Outbounder Sells

Travel Department launched Outbounder on 16 September 2026 as a brand for guided adventure travel. Hospitality Ireland reported the launch that day in a piece by Robert McHugh.

Outbounder carries the TD active Holidays programme. The former domain, tdactiveholidays.com, now serves the Outbounder site. The Outbounder homepage describes the brand as "formerly TD Active Holidays".

The brand lists seven holiday types. They are walking & hiking, adventure, wellness & yoga, wildlife & safari, solo adventure, Camino and tailormade groups.

The Featured Itineraries

Six itineraries carry full specifications on the homepage. Croatia Walking Holiday runs 7 nights on half board. Tuscany Walking Holiday runs 7 nights on half board. Camino de Santiago – The French Way runs 7 nights on half board. Madeira Walking Holiday runs 7 nights on half board.

Two run long. India's Golden Triangle – Himalayas Hike, Yoga & Safari runs 11 nights on bed and breakfast plus one evening meal. Vietnam – Ho Chi Minh City, Cu Chi Tunnels & Hoi An runs 15 nights on the same board basis.

Every featured trip is marked fully guided. Each carries flights and transfers, a departure strip for 2026 and 2027, and a month-by-month availability display.

Four of the six are 7-night European walking weeks on half board. A group leader comparing destinations can put Croatia, Tuscany, Madeira and the Camino de Santiago side by side in one format.

What the Price Covers

Outbounder states that flights, accommodation, transfers, activities, excursions and expert guidance are included. The half-board and bed-and-breakfast-plus-one formats set the food budget. Included transfers remove a coach hire line from the plan.

Groups travel small. The site describes the format as a small group of like-minded people, with space to enjoy the journey at your own pace.

Departures leave from the Republic of Ireland. Travel Department's about page states that bookings are protected under ATOL in the UK and CAR in Ireland. Outbounder's sustainability page lists an ESG scoring certificate for 2024 and a sustainability award at the Irish Travel Industry Awards 2025.

Guides are local. The site states that its guides and instructors supply local stories, scenic routes and destination knowledge.

The Operator Behind the Brand

Outbounder describes itself as part of the Travel Department family, with over 30 years of experience in guided group travel.

Travel Department's about page states that the company is Irish owned and operated since 1996 and covers more than 140 destinations. It cites a Trustpilot rating of 4.7 from over 5,000 reviews.

ITTN's report of 15 January 2026 covers the company's 30th birthday celebration at the National Concert Hall in Dublin. Founder Bob Haugh spoke at the event.

The Demand Numbers

Travel Department said walking and hiking bookings are up 10 percent on 2025. It named new routes at Cinque Terre, the Danube Bend, the Dolomites, the French Riviera and Montenegro.

ITTN's report of the birthday event names three new 2026 tours from TD Active product manager Stephen Power. They are Albania for challenging hiking, Explore India for culture, train, yoga and safari, and French Riviera/Liguria for coastal walks.

The French Riviera route has that support. The 10 percent figure and the other four routes rest on the company's own statement.

What the Launch Adds for a Group Booking

Outbounder runs a launch offer of up to €200 per person off worldwide adventures.

The site also runs a competition for a walking holiday to Sicily for two. Entries close on 26 October.

The practical change for a group is brand focus. The TD active Holidays line continues under the Outbounder name, with walking, hiking, wellness, wildlife and solo formats under one label.

Group leaders should confirm current prices and departure dates on the site before quoting. The featured itineraries publish month-by-month availability, so dates vary by season.
