A 2027 game-day site in downtown Indianapolis
The Indiana Fever broke ground on the Fever Sports Performance Center in August 2025, and Axios Indianapolis reported the ceremony at the former Marion County Jail site. The project carries a 78 million dollar budget.
The building covers 108,000 square feet across three floors. The club states the facility opens before the 2027 WNBA season. The site sits on the west half of the former jail site at the corner of Alabama and Maryland streets.
The performance center connects by skybridge to the Virginia Avenue Parking Garage and to Gainbridge Fieldhouse, per the club's own release. Amenities in that release: two courts, strength and conditioning equipment, a yoga and Pilates area, a full-service kitchen, a private outdoor courtyard, mental performance spaces, a hair and nail salon, child care resources, a studio for podcasting or content creation and a Fever team store.

The package counts 12 hotels and 5,200 connected rooms, and Visit Indy states that the Signia adds 803 connected rooms when it opens. Visit Indy also states that the downtown pipeline will push the room count within walking distance of the convention center past 10,000.
The Indiana Convention Center publishes its own counts. Its attendee pages report 7,100 downtown hotel rooms, with more than half inside a few blocks. Its facility guide reports 4,721 rooms connected to the Center, 7,175 rooms within a six-block radius and 4,570 committable group rooms downtown, and puts 4,717 of downtown's 7,200 rooms on the skywalk network.
The walk in
Gainbridge Fieldhouse sits at 125 South Pennsylvania Street. Georgia Street runs three blocks between the Indiana Convention Center and the arena, and Visit Indy describes the corridor as a mixed-use pedestrian space with two lanes of traffic.
From a Washington Street hotel, walk east toward Alabama Street and south to Maryland Street for the performance-center block. Then walk south to Georgia Street and one block west to the arena entrance at Pennsylvania Street. The whole route sits inside the six-block downtown radius the convention center publishes.
A half-day route for a 2027 group
Start the morning in the Washington Street cluster. Hyatt Regency, Embassy Suites, Conrad and The Westin all sit inside the connected package.
Walk to the Alabama and Maryland corner for the performance-center block. The club publishes the ground-level team store and a public lobby, and it publishes no visitor hours. Confirm a time with the club before you promise one.
Continue south to Georgia Street and walk west to the arena. Hold the arena for the afternoon and work the group's afternoon against the 2027 season schedule when the league publishes it.
Close the day on foot in the Wholesale District. Visit Indy's development page lists a Ritz-Carlton connected to Gainbridge Fieldhouse, with a 4,000-seat Live Nation music venue on the same site.
Street conditions to check
Visit Indy's development page carries the current closures. Capitol Avenue is closed from Ohio Street to South Street for through traffic through September 2026, with access to Crowne Plaza available. Illinois Street is closed from South Street to Georgia Street. Georgia Street between Capitol Avenue and Illinois Street is closed to vehicles and to pedestrians. The skywalk between the Omni Severin Hotel and Circle Centre came down in the fourth quarter of 2025. Georgia Street and the Union Station underpasses are published as complete by fall 2026.

Ask Pacers Sports & Entertainment for the 2027 season calendar, the skybridge access window and the center's visitor hours.
