Where the Hotel Sits on the Grid
InterContinental Indianapolis opened at 17 West Market Street with 170 guest rooms and suites across 11 floors. Keystone Group added an entire rooftop floor during the restoration, per the brand's release. The release dates the first stays to 20 February 2025. The Indianapolis Business Journal dated the public debut to Monday 24 February 2025.

The Soldiers and Sailors Monument on Monument Circle stands 125 metres (0.08 mile, 411 feet) from the door. The Indiana State Capitol is 271 metres (0.17 mile, 889 feet). Gainbridge Fieldhouse is 593 metres (0.37 mile). The Indiana Convention Center is 645 metres (0.40 mile).
East along Market Street, Indianapolis City Market is 527 metres (0.33 mile) from the hotel and the Julia M. Carson Transit Center is 574 metres (0.36 mile). Lucas Oil Stadium is 1,092 metres (0.68 mile) away. White River State Park is 1,432 metres (0.89 mile) away.
The Circle and the State House
The Circle is the fixed point an Indianapolis itinerary can be built around. Historic Hotels of America records that the urban design was part of the city's founding plan and earned the city the nickname Circle City. That page also lists a weekly farmers' market and a nightly Signature Salute to Indiana's veterans among the year-round events there, and it names the monument's observation deck as a place to look over the city.
The State Capitol sits inside the same walking frame at 271 metres. The release names both landmarks in its own description of the address. The Convention Center and Its Published Set
The Indiana Convention Center sits at 100 South Capitol Avenue, 645 metres straight-line from the hotel door. The center's facility guide places it in a six-block area bordered by the State Capitol, Pan American Plaza, Union Station, Capitol Commons, Circle Centre and Victory Field.

Visit Indy's connected-hotels page counts 12 hotels and 5,200 rooms connected, with more than 10,000 rooms within walking distance of the center. The InterContinental does not appear on that page's property list.
Astrea as the Evening Stop
Astrea Rooftop Bar sits on the 11th floor of the hotel, above Monument Circle. The venue's own page describes an indoor-outdoor room that runs year-round, with the outdoor patio closed in rain or snow.
Guests of all ages are welcome until 7 p.m., and the room is 21 and over after that. DJs perform Friday and Saturday evenings from 7 p.m. Brunch DJ sets run Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Reservations are not required and are recommended for weekends and sunset hours. Tables can be booked up to 90 days ahead through OpenTable and cap at six guests, with larger parties arranged by email.
Valet parking at the hotel front drive costs $25, so the rooftop works as an evening stop inside the same building as the room. The bar's happy hour lists $10 martinis on Mondays and $10 margaritas on Tuesdays. Serliana on the second floor serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Hyde Park Steakhouse occupies the ground floor.
Arrivals Without a Car
The Julia M. Carson Transit Center at 201 East Washington Street is 574 metres from the hotel and opened in 2016 with 19 bus bays. Of IndyGo's 31 routes, 26 offer transfers at the station.
The Red Line bus rapid transit line entered service on 1 September 2019. The line runs on dedicated bus lanes with level boarding, and it links Broad Ripple to the University of Indianapolis through downtown.
The Indianapolis Cultural Trail runs about 10 miles and connects the six cultural districts in downtown Indianapolis, per the trail's own site.
What an Itinerary Still Needs
